SPRING, Texas (KTRK) - A gunman who shot himself in the head after shooting his wife's friend to death Wednesday at a seafood restaurant in north Harris County has died, the medical examiner's office confirmed. She should be fired.Maurenzo Smith's family revealed he accompanied his friend to mediate her divorce talk when he was killed allegedly by her husband. What's sad is that she can get away with this behavior because most people will never be back anyway. We could have taken the drinks and easily walked off without even paying. It took her less than 60 seconds to get our basic drink order and comes back but can't remember who they belong to. The bartender takes THEIR order, then finally comes and takes ours. Meanwhile two more couples come have a seat at the bar. The bartender walks back over to us and says, "See, I told you so!" Then another customer comes up to the bar and tells the bartender that they never got their drinks with their food. The bartender then says,"Do you want me to call security?" At that point, the customer puts up her wallet and walks back to her table and sits down to eat! She had spent no telling how much on crab legs with nothing to drink. The bartender says, "I don't have to serve you." The customer just stares at her. She looks at the customer and says, "You can leave." The customer then proceeds to tell her that she just wanted to order a drink. During this time, a lady standing beside him politely asks the bartender if she can get some additional help behind the counter. She fixes it, and he walks off without paying. Then she asks him what he wants to drink. Meanwhile, everyone is watching all of this. They are standing there discussing ingredients and how good it tasted. She breaks some off and starts eating, then stops the other bartender and tells her to come try. He offers her some chocolate that he had been eating off of. A big guy comes in and wants to order a drink.
They were going in circles and couldn't seem to get it together. Both bartenders were working on one person's order of three Bloody Marys. As the HOUR went on, we were observing what was going on while waiting for someone to take our drink order. a coworker or customer, and she said customer. One of the bartenders (not Briana but taller with similar features) who wasn't wearing a name tag, came over to us and started immediately complaining about someone being rude. I would suggest a cup of one of their chowders instead which is about $10 or $12. It is expensive for what they provide if you are wanting to get the crab. It is not cheap to eat there but it is a casual place. Everyone seemed to enjoy that and they also have a salmon soup if I recall. If you are hungary, I would instead suggest getting a cup of the lobster bisque. They were not King Crab as advertised but more like snow crabs. In the future I will get them at Sam's or Costco or even Winn Dixie and cook them myself. It was a huge waste of $40 for one person for lunch. Part was hot and the crab clusters were icy cold. They had been previously cooked but were chilled and not heated up thoroughly. I was with family group on cruise that stopped here and we had done a Whale Watching tour in the morning and looked forward to getting Crab lunch afterwards, but we were disappointed because the crabs I got were still cold and had not been.
